I usually find out from FB too...actually I found out from my party loving, chain smoking, wine drinking mother yesterday that he and his girlfriend are going to visit her in Cyprus. He never mentioned it to me! You have to let go I suppose and hope they'll eventually come to you...darn difficult some days though.Carol E Wyerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12375439814725846546noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-48727200843446275.post-49934229731212054932011-02-18T15:21:10.700-05:002011-02-18T15:21:10.700-05:00My mom and I talk on the phone weekly, and email a...My mom and I talk on the phone weekly, and email almost daily, so we've never had an issue there.

But my brothers hardly ever chat with my mom. And FB makes it SO much worse.

My middle bro posted something about wanting to propose to his girlfriend, but she doesn't want to get married. My oldest bro misread it as "they are getting married" and told my mom, who checked FB and misread it as "middle bro proposed to girlfriend online"...it was a massive day of drama. All of which could have been resolved with ONE phone call. But the boys just don't want to chat, I guess. *eyeroll*

It's totally your son's loss if he doesn't want to go to lunch with you. Someday, hopefully, he'll grow up enough to realize that our time on Earth is precious and short, and good relationships (especially parental ones) are worth any effort to maintain. :)Beth Whttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01898921671895123053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-48727200843446275.post-50471742802873359782011-02-18T14:58:09.106-05:002011-02-18T14:58:09.106-05:00Gosh, I so hear you on this one. Oh I know he loves me and all, but he is really not considerate on the communication. It hurts sometimes. My younger son calls more often so I don't have to pull any Mommy tricks, but the older one gets my guilt trips once in awhile.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-48727200843446275.post-20219551902956793372011-02-18T14:26:19.783-05:002011-02-18T14:26:19.783-05:00Please don't tell me this as my oldest is gett...Please don't tell me this as my oldest is getting ready to leave for college this fall. I started texting to stay in touch and it has been wonderful - I hope it continues!Sheila Silerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15284982582798743408noreply@blogger.com
