On my hands and knees

Call me old-fashioned.. but I like to wash my floors on my hands and knees.
I do use a sponge mop once in awhile, but I think to get your floors really clean you need to use a little elbow grease.

Perfect weekend

Don't you just love perfect weekends?  It's doesn't happen often, but when it does you just don't want it to end.

SoSerene: the perfect place for business meetings, private parties, outdoor weddings, intimate indoor weddings and family gatherings.

We've had a busy month...3 wonderful weddings...weekends watching our friends band play out. (hubby's old band members)  I know deep down he (hubby) wants to be up there jamming with them..he misses it, but he said he does not miss being out every weekend.  It gets old, and the pay is bad.
He still plays at home, and gives guitar lessons a couple times a week.

 Work has been stressful lately, so I need to work on having more "Serene" in my day!

Just a few things...

*Spring
Ha..not in my neck of the woods. The temperature has risen over 30*, but it's been so Bluh.
Ohio weather is so unpredictable..one day the sun is out, the next day we're having sleet.
I envy people that can just quit their jobs and relocate.  I only wish I had the balls (so to speak).

*Work
I work with MORONS!  I really do!   This guy I work with is driving me crazy...I don't like to be mean to people, but I would rather this guy not even talk to me.   I use to kinda like my job!

We are finally getting a long weekend "Good Friday".  We've been working a lot of weekend's, and me being on 2nd shift, working Saturday night really sucks!  Makes me cranky!
And when mama's cranky.....Well, you know the rest!

*Home
We have plans to buy a new fence to go around the patio..We are thinking about a higher fence for privacy, plus the fence we have is so old and getting brittle.
I told hubby that when we buy the boards we can spend a nice sunny day painting them before we put them up..if we can get a nice sunny day!
I need to buy more twinkle lights...Just Love little white lights all around the patio at night.

Hubby and I both had our "Fittings" for the July wedding.  Hubby had to go to the Men's Warehouse, and I had to go to Davids Bridal.   I did get a smaller size, but plan on losing more of me before July. So I guess I better take a needle and thread with me in case I need to do some altering.

*OMG Moment
I was letting the "outside" cat (we call him the Outside cat because he only comes in to nap, but spends most of his time outdoors) in the other day, and saw that he had something in his mouth when he shot by me.
It was a bird..a live bird that started flying around in the house with the cat hot on his tail.
Thank God the bird flew to the door where I was still standing. I opened the door... bird and cat both went out.  I think the cat was pissed at me because his prize got away, and he had to stay outside the rest of the day!

Nothing

Many days I come in here wanting to write something cool.  Many days I come in here and just look at my blog waiting for that something cool to pop into my head.
Today is one of those days that I have nothing much to say.   No kids at home to write how I packed their lunch, and sent them off to school.  No animals to take cute pictures of.

I could write that we got more snow the last few days, after about 4 days of sunshine (tease).
But how exciting is that?
I could write how I need to finish the short story I started...it's a short story Linda, for crying out loud!  Or how I often talk to myself!

Ooh...I could write about how I need to find a nice dress for a July wedding in Fla. (hottest time of the year down there)  I guess the Bride-to-be wants the Mothers to wear pastel.  And, since I'm the "Stepmom"  I want to look GOOD!    (just sayin!)  LOL

I could write about how I look out the window and see the neighbor across the street still has not put their trash can away...Trash day is Friday.  Come on people..your cans are blowing all over the neighborhood. (drives me nuts)

So, since I have Nothing to write about I guess I'll go surf other blogs to see what everyone else is writing about.

Cabin Fever

This is the time of year that I hate...I call it..The gloom and doom of winter..or just Bluh!
It rained yesterday, and melted some of the snow.  The temperature dropped back down, and now we have ice on top of the slush. (makes for fun driving..not!)

So, the days just drag on...I keep looking out the windows to see if there is any kind of change...a little ray of sunshine peeking through the clouds..   Nope..nothing..not today anyways!

Come on Spring...I am so ready for you to brighten my days with your fresh scents, and warm breeze.

"Put-Off"

I was just thinking about my blog..After reading my friend Terri's blog, and her subject..I'm a little put off.... I decided to put my thoughts down.  

I started my blog for my family a long time ago..tried to convince family members to get their own blog as a way to stay in touch..never happened!

So I blogged for my own entertainment. Had a few followers, but now I have many.

I have read a lot of wonderful, interesting blogs, and made some really good friends.   Many of my blog friends have a Great talent for writing! (Terri)
But, I too have been a little "Put-Off".  Mostly because I feel inadequate about my writing skills...or lack of!
I sometimes cringe at the thought of someone reading my posts...I feel like I will be graded, or laughed at...just a little insecure I guess.
 
I don't like feeling this way in my own blog...and I refuse to feel like that...So, if you come here expecting a "Well Written" story...forget it!
And...
•I am not a SAHM

•All children are grown and gone
•I work in a dirty factory... 4 pm - midnight
•Been married a couple of times
•My husband has the sex drive of a 20 yr. old
•I only see my hubby on the weekends...so that sex drive comes in handy!
•I have a big caring heart
•I think I might be pre-menopausal
•I make crafts to give as gifts not to sell..(I have been thinking about changing that though)
•I like to stay healthy, but lately I've been eating like crap.
•I hate winter
•Hubby and I work at the same factory.

Nothing fancy, but it's my life, and I like it! 
Is all that written very well?  I really don't care!  My blog...my crappy writing!

It's a Mad, mad World.

It's crazy out there I tell ya....With the Christmas shopping rush and this snow..People are just nuts!
Not only do you have to be careful driving in the snow...which doesn't bother me...it's all the freaking  nuts out there that you have to watch out for!  Geez people...just simmer down!

Now..on to the next topic....My Christmas projects!   "Note to self"  Get busy on your darn projects girl!  I have (I think) one more Blanket to make, and I have put it off for some reason. And gifts to wrap! (Procrastinator!)
Well, we did get the Tree up over the weekend...and I did send out a few Christmas cards...I just can't seem to get the rest done! (Lazy) < WTF?

Okay...I think I'm done beating myself up..
So the rest of the week I will finish the Blanket..I will wrap gifts (note to self..buy wrapping paper..no really, write this down Miss forgetful!)

So there you have it...it's late, I'm tired, and I'm talking to myself...

Bad Girl nails

So I painted my nails over the weekend...Black!

Well..Hello there...How are you?  Did you enjoy the Holiday?
  We had a nice, small get-together, with plenty of food to last the rest of the weekend....Yummmm...Turkey sandwiches.

I/we did not go out shopping for "Black Friday", but we did run to Wally World in the evening for a few things..Hubby got me the Wii's "Just Dance 2"!  Now, I have my work-out dance for the winter.  And yes, it is a great work out!

Other than coloring my hair, and painting my nails, and watching Football...we don't have much planned for the rest of the weekend..just going to relax, and enjoy the moment!

A Thank-you would be Appreciated

Is it not common courtesy to give or send a "Thank you" when you get a gift these days?

Hubby and I have noticed...(well okay.. I noticed, and pointed out to hubby..)  that we've have been to a few weddings in the past year, had several births, Birthday's, Graduation's...etc... In our little circle of Family and Friends, and we always make sure that we give to these events, because we Love these people... and because, We are givers... Pleasers..Like to make people smile kind of people..But I would like some kind of reaction from something we give...Even if it's a lie..just humor me damn-it.

The last wedding reception we went to was for a Friend at work (Hubby and I work the same place).
  We gave the newlyweds a card with $ in it, and put it in their "Card basket" on the gift table.
There were a lot of people there...a lot of drinking, and dancing..just a lot of motion...who's to say that someone didn't swipe a card or two thinking there might be Money in it.  (just sayin!)
 So, a "Thank you" of any kind would let me know that they even got it.

I guess I'm just Old Fashion.. I like to watch people open the gifts they get.  Today's weddings couples don't even exchange rings...At my nephews wedding they already had their rings on..I was waiting, and waiting for that part of the ceremony, which never came.  Never saw them open gifts...never got a Thank You!
WTF People?

I guess I'll just have to be a little more stingy with my gift giving to these younger folks!
Or...(now that I think about it)..maybe they didn't like my gift, and I should take their no "Thank you for the gift" as a hint!   (hummm...ungrateful little Brats)  Umm, I mean..I'll work on that! 
     NOT!
I complain, but I'll still give gifts, because that's the way I roll!

Yep, I'm just a Happy girl today...it's Friday, the Sun is shining, the Holidays are approaching....I have a Great Hubby, Family and Awesome Friends...what more can a gal ask for?

Sending a "Care Package" to Alec Sat..  Hubby is planning on baking his famous Chocolate Chip Cookies..Guess I need to find a Tin to put them in.  I've been trying to find something cool/different to add to the package..Since he's in Qatar he has a store close by, but I just want to send something that he didn't even know he needed.  (ya know?)

SLACKER! / Not so WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

Slacker!...I think that was what Terri over at "Terri's Little Corner" was calling me.
 She said get in there and blog or something...lol
Now, I'm not like most bloggers in here...I'm not a "Writer", and some days I just don't have much to share.
I do have a lot going on in this head of mine, but words fail me when I sit down at my blog.  So, I surf other blogs..check emails, then facebook...etc.. Then it's time to get things done around the home before work.

Just off the top of my head...I have no personal friends that Blog...Long time ago I invited family and friends to start blogging as a way to keep "in touch", but they just can't seem to do it.  One of the reasons I started a blog was to let family see pictures of my son's races...let them read what was going on in our lives...etc.. Our Family over the years has spread out all over the US.
 Then Facebook came out....Finally a way to get Family and Friends active on the internet. 
It's just strange that I know no personal friends that blog!  But, I have made many blog friends..read many great stories.   So, I guess my family and friends are missing out!

Goofy chubby girl gets new mugs! and a new Do

Oh Yeah baby....My new mugs finally came!

 I had to get them washed up so I could sit down with my favorite tea, and a book...

Hubby gave me a Perm Sunday...looks a little fuzzy at the moment, but it will wash out..(I hope!)
Hubby gives the best perms, because he knows how to "roll" the rods and paper.
He also makes me promise not to tell his buddies that he gives his wife "Perms".  He says they would jump all over this...  Not Manly!  Geez
I remember my Dad helping Mom with her hair coloring, and perms...he didn't seem embarrassed. Humm? makes me wonder now...lol

I guess it's just a "Guy" thing.    Get over it Honey, because a few of my friends already know, and wonder if you would give them perms?  Hey, this could be extra income for us... Just saying!

I ran into an old friend at Wal Mart...we chatted for awhile, and then she paid me a compliment that just about brought tears to my eyes..
She said...Linda, when I grow up, I want to look just like you.. You have a cute little figure!
I know...it's all a little sappy....But,
This compliment came at a time when I really needed it! I'm going to be smiling the rest of the day!

I think when you recieve a compliment from another woman it means more....we all know most men will tell you anything...or lie when you ask: Do these pants make my butt look big?
