Chemo Angels

A GREAT way to support Chemo Patients!

Chemo Angels

Chemo Angels is a volunteer organization dedicated to adding a ray of sunshine to the lives of those undergoing IV chemo treatment. We believe people going through the physical, emotional and mental rigors of chemotherapy deserve some encouragement. Many of our Chemo Angel volunteers are cancer survivors themselves, or people whose lives have been affected by cancer in some way. Our common denominator is a desire to brighten the lives of cancer patients while they are going through this challenging time.

For Angel Volunteers

If your application is accepted, you will encourage and support your patient for the duration of their course of treatment by sending weekly cards, and uplifting notes, and an occasional small gift.

Here's how to become a >"Chemo Angel"<

Back in the Day...

THE COVERED BRIDGE
"At rest, at last, in shaded woods,
Wild ivy climbs its beams.

Its memories only shared by God
And one undying stream.

Whose hooves have trod these ancient planks?
What mystery would they sing?
In raging storm was sheltered here
Beggar, thief, or king?

Not long ago, great artists came,
And poets one by one.
But soon the road was overgrown;
Now even they are gone.

Though now it's only refuge to
Wild ivy, bird, and fawn,
The covered bridge has memories
To cherish from now on!"

$5.00

True Story

This morning when my hubby went to work he had a 5 dollar bill, a couple of one's, and some change.
When he first got to work, he tried to break the five in the food machines. They would not take his 5, so he used a $1.00.
He tried again at lunch, and the machine would not take the 5 dollar bill.
After work, while he was out mowing, trimming...basic yard work, a somewhat haggard, tired looking guy in maybe his 30's walks up to him and say's..Hey buddy, do you have a dime I can have?
My hubby thought...a Dime? Must be hard times for this guy!
So, he reached into his pocket knowing all he had was the $5.00 that he couldn't use all day at work.
He could tell the guy was embarrassed, and mumbled a "Thank you", and something about his attempt to get to Zenia.
Now, I know that my hubby pondered on that all evening, and finally came to the conclusion that the $5.00 that he could not spend at work was meant for someone else.

Dear Lord, I thank You for this day,
I thank You for my being able to see
and to hear this morning.
I'm blessed because You are
a forgiving God and
an understanding God.
You have done so much for me
and You keep on blessing me.
Forgive me this day for everything
I have done, said or thought
that was not pleasing to you.

I ask now for Your forgiveness.
Please keep me safe
from all danger and harm.
Help me to start this day
with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude.
Let me make the best of each and every day
to clear my mind so that I can hear from You.
Please broaden my mind
that I can accept all things.
Let me not whine and whimper
over things I have no control over.
And give me the best response
when I'm pushed beyond my limits.

I know that when I can't pray,
You listen to my heart.
Continue to use me to do Your will.
Continue to bless me that I may be
a blessing to others.
Keep me strong that I may help the weak...
Keep me uplifted that I may have
words of encouragement for others.
I pray for those that are lost
and can't find their way.
I pray for those that are misjudged
and misunderstood.
I pray for those who
don't know You intimately.
I pray for those that don't believe.

But I thank You that I believe
that God changes people and
God changes things.
I pray for all my sisters and brothers.
For each and every family member
in their households.
I pray for peace, love and joy
in their homes; that they are out of debt
and all their needs are met.
I pray that every eye that reads this
knows there is no problem, circumstance,
or situation greater than God.
Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight.

I pray that these words be received
into the hearts of every eye that sees it
in Jesus' name. Amen!
